Sam Boraie is also building a residential tower in Newark, New Jersey. For this project, they teamed up with former NBA player Shaquille O’Neal. Shaquille grew up in Newark where he says he spent a lot of time at a movie theater and the Boys and Girls Club so he could stay out of trouble. He invested in this new residential tower because he wants to see Newark thrive and this $150 million project will help meet this goal.
Shaquille O’Neal says that he will be buying the penthouse in this building, officially named One Rector but known locally as Shaq Tower. This high-rise, the first to be built in Newark in half a century, will also feature retail space on its lowest level and have a roof-deck plaza with space to barbecue. This building was approved to be built in August 2018 and will take 22 months to complete. You can checkout patch.com to see more.
